Orrisha Maharajh is a Senior Partner in the firm’s Corporate/Commercial Department, bringing over 23 years of experience advising clients on complex legal matters. Her expertise spans domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, oil and gas law, joint ventures, corporate structuring and restructuring, foreign investment projects, securities law, regulatory issues, immigration law, and estate planning.  Throughout her career, Orrisha has been at the forefront of significant transactions, negotiating, drafting, and reviewing critical agreements, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, IPOs, and a wide range of commercial contracts. She has worked with clients across diverse industries, including financial services, manufacturing, energy, distribution, and insurance.

Recent Experience 

  • Lead Counsel to Massy Gas Products Holdings Ltd in its acquisition of all of the shares in Air Liquide Trinidad & Tobago Limited from Air Liquide International S.A. and its acquisition of all of the shares in IGL (St. Lucia) Limited, and indirectly the business of IGL Jamaica.
  • Lead Counsel to Petroleum Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (“Petrotrin”) in its reorganization, including advising generally, conducting a detailed due diligence on Petrotrin’s material contracts, including Production Sharing Contracts, Exploration and Production Petroleum Licences, Joint Operating Agreements, and drafting of the Vesting Act to effect the reorganization and the incorporation and establishment of four separate companies within the Group, and preparing all necessary documents to give effect to the provisions of the Vesting Act.  Acting as Company Secretary for all Group companies.
  • Lead Counsel for First Citizens Bank Limited in its Corporate Restructuring of its Group of Companies, involving amalgamations and listing of the new holding Company, First Citizens Group Financial Holdings Limited.
